Frequently Asked Questions

  • I was born and raised in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, so French is my native language. My background is quite mixed: my mother is Swiss and German, and my father is Chinese and English. My last name, Pearson, often makes people assume that I only speak English, but is it actually my second language. I also have German nationality, but unfortunately, my German skills aren’t very strong. Even though my dad is mostly Chinese, I don’t speak or understand Chinese… but I do know how to cook some delicious dishes! ☻

  • Playful, maximalist, colorful.

  • I create my illustrations using a computer and iPad, working mainly in Procreate for drawing all my hand-drawn shapes and sketches, and Photoshop for the final art (textures and clean shapes). Even though I work digitally, I like to think of myself as a craftswoman : every brushstroke and color choice is intentional.

  • Everyday life, memories, people I love. My mixed heritage Swiss-Asian heritage play a big role (I love Swiss and Chinese folk art) and finally music! Most of the time, a good idea comes from a song and every project I worked on has its own soundtrack.

  • I listen, stay curious, and ask question. I like taking the time to understand the story and intention behind each project. Then I build visuals that reflect that story, always adding layers of imagination and a twist.

  • Projects that give me space to express my skills, whether it’s a commercial brand campaign, playful packaging, or a dreamy editorial.
My favorite projects are the ones where people can interact with my work and take a moment to pause and escape everyday busy life. When it tells a story or sparks emotion, that’s the sweet spot.

  • Not at all. I work with clients of all sizes, from small brands to big agencies. If the project lights a creative spark and we speak the same language, I’m in. For me, there’s no “big” or “small” project but only meaningful ones.

  • I experiment constantly, playing with personal projects and testing new compositions.
I’m naturally curious and love looking into art books, picture books, packaging, movies, music, and more.
I’m a very visual person, inspiration is everywhere! But I especially draw it from my emotions and personal life.

  • Yes, if it doesn’t align with my values or style. Saying no (kindly) helps me stay true to my work and give my best to the right projects.

  • Just enough to understand the vision. The best results happen with creative trust and space to explore. That said, if a client isn’t sure what they want, I love taking the time to guide them, ask questions, help them to shape a direction.

  • It’s not about the result, it’s about the journey. If someone says no, I try not to take it personally and remind myself that I’m not that important — and not to take myself too seriously. If I fail, I move on, have fun, and explore. I always try to stay true to myself. Ego can be the biggest obstacle to my creativity!
