2024 is the Year of the Dragon, a year that promises Strength, Luck and Charisma.
To celebrate Lunar New Year 2024 and the Year of the Dragon making it extra special this time, my friend Sophie Zhao and I embarked on a rather sentimental project –our "Year of the Dragon Wall Scroll Calendar."
This idea struck us as a fun and fresh way to blend childhood nostalgia with a touch of tradition, taking something from many of our childhoods and refreshing it to empower and resonate with today's audience. After we couldn't find anything similar here in Switzerland, we were especially driven to move forward with our project to share the nostalgia and pride in our heritage.
The project is a homage to my inner child, featuring the iconic Asian girl bowl cut many of us seemed to have and a nod to the classic '90s yellow shoes (à la Kill Bill) as a tribute to badass female leaders.
Beyond the cute facade, there's the expression of the strength and fierceness within each of us, symbolized by the dragon taking center stage, guiding the girl on her creative journey, and the cute happy fruits on the side, a showcase of luck accompanying the adventure.

PACKAGING & GIFTING
As gifting is a big part of the Lunar New Year culture, we wanted to ensure the packaging reflected the pride we felt in this project. I designed custom sleeves and wrapped each calendar with love and care. Inside, you'll find a small card, wishing you luck and success on your 2024 journey.
